Honda...yes! Toyota...before the most recent couple of years, yes. However, the most recent cars have been a nightmare for Toyota. They've grown so fast, their problems per 1000 vehicles have skyrocketed. I'm sure they'll work it out, but they're having some serious growing pains.

I consider the 3 to be as reliable as a Honda. Consumer reports does too. It wouldnt be a best buy if it wasnt.

I drove the Civic LX/EX and Mazda 3s many times before I bought my 3s Touring a few weeks ago. I also drive the Civic Si and Mazdaspeed3.

You've done your homework and narrowed it down to a couple great cars. In other words, your intellect has done its job. Now it's time to let your gut decide.

Have you taken both cars on long test drives? If not, I strongly recommend you do. Then ask yourself: Which car is more fun to drive? Which car do you desire more?
