they aren't..

unless it's under a certain foot ratio, and not above a certain power wattage.

I've been using an Escort 8500x50, works really good. On the bike I have laser protection, not so much with the car. So generally if you get tagged with laser you'll most likely be getting pulled over.

There is no such thing as a working radar jammer, so the laws are stupid. That rocky mountain is all a waste of moey.

Yes there are working radar jammers, it's not very hard to jam radar...just very illegal.

Yes in theory there are but for all intents and purposes there is no such thing as a radar jammer. The only jammers that ever worked operated on one wavelength against old analog radar guns. With todays technology you would need a advanced device that somehow passively scans the radio waves and locks onto the specific gun signal and then scrambles it or add's noise in etc.. whichever it would do. With today's digital radar guns not only is it very hard to jam they have all the error codes in them. Also most jammers have been known to actually raise the speed of the reading screwing you over more.

Jamming an individual radar gun on only that frequency might be a bit difficult, but a blanket jamming by completely flooding the frequencies that police radar use would be relatively easy and would definitely mess with their devices.

i could build a radar jammer from where im sitting right now...i work for an engineering company that deals almost only with RF frequencies....

its relatively easy...or you could just modulate the signal so that they get useless information back...

The Phantom RCD was/is VERY effective against older X and K band radars. There is a Scorpion radar jammer that is somewhat effective against some models of Ka band radar that are left constantly running. Either model doesn't stand much of a chance against modern DSP radars, particularly when used in instant on mode.

Adding noise or generating a false speed (via a pre-programmed frequency shift) isn't that hard to do with the know-how. In reality, very few radar guns have a reliable jam indication (I had a Kustom HAWK that gave a jam indication every time I passed certain locations). They are prone to giving false jam indications in the presence of strong RFI, so its unreliable at best. Many guns *do* in fact have an RFI indicator, but there are far too many "legitimate" sources of RFI for a cop to claim someone was jamming the radar.

damn, if only i knew how to modulate an rf signal, i know it's illegal to do it, but it's not illegal to talk about it. let me in on it kev, please

exactly. effective against OLD technology. Unless you are jamming in some bum town with kustom 55's you need to figure out a new plan. Theres no reason to jam radar anyways

I have had about 3 reasons to jam Ka band radar and 4 reasons to jam laser this year alone, and yes, I am talking about tickets. And, yes, they are mostly from po-dunk little towns between San Antonio and Mexico. I make a lot of trips back and forth to see family, and my Whistler has done nothing to alert me of the police =[. i don't think it's anybody's place to tell me what I need. Unless you drive here, you don't know what I may need, but thanx for trying to help, I guess...
