Does anyone have a problem with wear on the leather shift boot? I had one replaced under warranty, but the new one after 2 weeks has spots where the color has worn off.
My boot was replaced with no problems, but it may not matter because the second one is worse, Dealer said they would replace it again if I wanted but it would happen again.
Another dealer said "that's how it is" so live with it.
The shift boot is wearing so bad now there is a tear. Something is pinching it.
This is the second boot but the first one was never this bad. Did the dealership do something wrong installing it?
Are there any aftermarket boots that are real leather?
I will try to post pics...

Hey i'm not the only one!
The shift boot in my 07 is vinyl, not leather. After only 4 months, the boot is already cracking through the stress areas. The quality of this vinly material is like really really cheap, the kind that turns brittle and crack with amy flexing in cold weather (and Montreal is cold). In the absence of real leather, it would have been better off using a rubber boot. I wonder if the dealer would cover this under warranty? But then again, what the hell, even if it is changed, the same thing will happen again.
