Yes, the little red key icon always flashes, that's the immobilizer doing its job. Your key has a little chip in it which is programmed into your car's security system, and it disables the immobilizer when you put it in.

I searched the forum for an answer, but couldn't find one.
Is the light supposed to blink after the ignition is turned off? When I restart the engine it goes out. :?
