ok i have s-tech on my car now, and i'm planning to get rx-8 wheels.
will they rub?? does anyone have this setup?? i tried searching in the forums with no luck.
or will the s-tech rub with any 18" ??

no. i wouldn't worry about 18's.

i'd worry about what tires you're able to put on, definitely nothing wide. 225 max would be my guess.

do you have any recommendation on tire size for 18" ?

i wouldn't go over 225/40r/18

im no tire expert, but i'd bet you'd rub. no real tight u-turns thats for sure.

225/40R18

I had 18" wheels with 225/40R18 and a drop significantly lower than yours and I never experienced any rubbing whatsoever. The +50 offset of the RX-8 wheels are perfect for the 3.

350$ just rims for all 4?

I'm running S-techs and 225/40-18's on Rx8 rims, no problems at all-'cept when the steering is all the way to one side for parking lot type maneuvers.

turns out i'm not gonna get the rx8 wheels, it's too big and heavy.
i'm getting Rota Grid in gold instead!!!!!!!

Well, I've heard bad things about them. The reason they are more on the single customer consumer game rather than mass whole sale is because of their quality issues. Don't get me wrong, Rota has a name in the wheel industry... BUT there has been some issues lately with the quality of their rim. The reason you don't find many local wheel places dealing with Rotas is because of all of the returns, and that's a waste of their time. I was going to get Rota until I found this out... I'm not trying to bash Rota or anything.. so please don't flame me :twisted: :surrender:
