Hey guys, I have an ‘08 2.3L that’s at 339,000 miles, and I recently developed what I’m pretty certain is rod knock. I’ve been running Pennzoil high mileage 10W-30 since I got the car from the og owner three years ago, I don’t drive it hard and baby my car pretty good. Any tips/tricks to keep it from crapping itself until I can get an engine replacement or rebuild?
Start reading up on the Ford Fusion 2.5 swap. Very inexpensive option that will fix your car. Honestly you got way more miles out of the 2.3 than most people do. Once rod knock starts I would personally not be driving it any further.
