Hey op or anyone with the OEM i fogs - if you get a chance or know off the top of your head, can you let me know what the measurements of the light are? just the light part that shows like how many inches across and from top to bottom... i might have a project on my hands :) thank you!

Eh?!? And why so secretive. What's this project you speak of! Don't make me send Mulder and Skully to see what's going on.

Re: Retrofitting 3i Fogs.

welllll i thought it would work but i don't know now.. i found a set of projector fogs on eBay and I was thinking I could pop the light part out of a set of the OEM fogs and maybe do a little modifying to make the projector fit. but I don't think it's going to work now that I looked at the OEM fogs and the placement of the lens on the plastic part that holds it in. Maybe someone can figure it out but here is the link to the projectors if anyone is interested:

Re: Retrofitting 3i Fogs.

here's my MDX projector....

I'm planning to mount them on my stock fog lamp cover:

Just need to find a way to mount it properly....

the only problem is that they're not gonna be facing forward... more like sideways.... but the light projection should be enough to cover up both sides... i think.. :?

anyone tried this? :?

neel: maybe try using some sort of bracket, or an easily-bent metal and glue it to the back?

yep i was thinking something like that...

i just ordered a new pair of bumper covers. the holes i made on my current ones where no good otherwise the projectors would have been facing sideways rather than straight in front of the road...

i'll keep ya updated... :p

Stephanie and neeldub I may have found us some options.

http://www.hidplanet.com/halogen.html (The 2nd set of Projectors)

Don't know if the only difference between these 2 is one come with the HID ballast and bulb? (below)

http://www.hella.com/produktion/Hel...rsion_Headlamps/50mm_modules/50mm_Modules.jsp

I'll have to revisit the links myself as I'm dog tired and I'm not 100% sure of what I posted. Let me know what you think though.

Re: Retrofitting 3i Fogs.

yo,

i just realised something....

if i do put my MDX projectors in the cover panel, the actual projector would not be waterproof nor moisture proof..

silly silly me... why didnt i fink of that????? :( :( :( :(

plus it rains all the time here in england.. so i would indeed need an alternative solution.. probably this like Operator suggested..:

I don't know why. But these seem like the way to go. As they look like the smallest option?!?

they are smallest option.. but its not waterproof... look at the gap from the projector to the base...
