apparently i had a bad 02 sensor because my idle problem has been resolved. i figured since it looks like i might be the first on the forum to have an 02 sensor go on our mazda i would write up some of the symptoms, so if and when an 02 sensor goes on another vehicle others will something to go on.

1. your going to feel that you lost quit a bit of low end power.

2. in neutral your idle will be steady for about the 1st 30 sec then it will drop right before stall causing a CEL then rev back up to about 1500rpm then drop back into the normal idle range. repeating every so often. most extreme case stalled out. (happened once to me after an hour drive) also while in neutral if you have an after market exahust you will hear what i can only describe as a bunch of tiny back fire. You will know your car is not running right.

3. in 1st with clutch in, idle seemed to be steady still would drop ever so often on its own never stalled out. when trying to accelerate from a stop a lot more gas was required to get her moving.

4. if using a scan-tool the code that is going to pop up is p2195 02 sensor stuck lean at idle bank1 sensor1

5. brand new 02 sensor was $93.00 from mazda and it took about 10min to swap it out.

i hope this helps out some people in the future. want to thank everyone who posted some good info on my original post

Bean not to sure why my 02 sensor went, the only thing i could think of was maybe it was just its time...54,487 miles on it maybe after installing the new cai and exhaust it was just to much to handle. Its funny this happened right after i redlined my car for the 1st time in its life (im not a hard driver) its like she punished me for it!! thank god that's over, till the next problem....
