Has anyone done this? If so, is the sound still bearable if keeping the rest of the exhaust? Also, what part number are you using?

That's exactly what I did with mine. I don't have a part number however. The sound is perfect, there is a slight resonance at about 2000 rpm, but no drone on the highway. Just a bit deeper tone, in my mind a bit similar to the stock G35 exhaust.

what kind of muffler did you get? part number?

I have no idea exactly what part # it is, just a Magnaflow muffler suggested by the shop doing the installation. Great sound though!

Lol do you have any idea what the temperature is like up here?

I will be making/posting vids in the spring when I borrow a digital camera (my SLR doesn't do vids) as I have a few things I want to capture on video.
