Those sneaky dealers stuck their sticker on the back of my car (not happy about this). Now, how do I get this thing off??

Just peel. Its not overly sticky and can be removed with fingernails.

If pieces stick and dont come off, apply a little water and scrub it off with your finger.

blow dry it for 3 mins then it'll come out real quick..
I second this.

If it's a vinyl sticker (which it usually is), then just warm it up with either a heat gun or a hair dryer....then PEEL AWAY! :)

Mine came off without any problems. Just used my bare hands and pulled it off. It was some kind of foil sticker. Better remove it early as opposed to late. Took it off after having the car for 2 days.

that'll work, goo gone will get rid of any residue, supposedly.
I'd be afraid of using goo gone on my new finish. It's basically like gasoline, and I don't know how I'd feel about rubbing it into the finish. but it is great for getting off sticky stuff. Probably be best to read the container.

I second the hairdryer.

I used goo gone with no problems. It wasn't that strong. But I did agree with the hair dryer method. That's what I used to remove my v6 badges from my doors, and the mazda6 logo from the back.

If nothing else, try Coca Cola. hahaha, this is death for your finish, but don't leave it on that long, and it might only eat your wax. If you don't believe me, try this classic science experiment--take one can of Coca Cola, and pour it into a glass bowl, then add, hmm, a chicken bone. Leave it for a week. When you come back to it, you'll see why Coca Cola is perfect for taking stickers off of unpainted plastic bumpers, but anything else will get dissolved quickly.

Whenever I travel I can't get over how people in other parts of the country tolerate that crap. Here in California all you have is a license plate frame with the dealers name on it. Putting the dealers name as a sticker or badge would NEVER fly here.

I'd take it back and make the dealer take it off...rat bastards!

I've only bought one car with a dealer sticker on it, and I peeled it right off, didn't even require a hair dryer. I was afraid to damage the paint, but I cared more about getting the ugly sticker off. And those license plate frames are the first to come off! No free advertising from me. I can't imagine driving around for years with a dealer frame on, not to mention that they are illegal here in Texas (which doesn't stop me from having a frame :p)

Yes, I informed them that they would not be putting one on my ride and they didn't. I feel bad for people who buy from lots that actually put it on the paint, not just a sticker. It looks so stupid. But I guess that's what they get for not telling the dealers not to do it.

Take it back to the dealer. You bought the car, not the advertising. The dealer has to remove it for you and if they screw up, its their fault, not yours. Then they have to fix it if they ruin the finish or scratch the car.

Hey guys, I got fed up with looking at that stupid sticker so I worked on it today and I got it off. It was actually easier than I thought. It took some time but I had to really just sit there and pick and it and peel it off slowly. After it peeled off, I just used some water to wipe off the extra sticky residue. Gotta make sure I watch the dealer next time. They got me this time while I was in the office filling out paper work for the car. Sneaky. Thanks for all the helpful advice.
