To all professionals here. how legit is this vid on fixing a dent? It looks like they are fixing a large dent on the side of the car. The dent i wanna fix is a ding from a fucking cadillac with a fat ass that couldnt get out even when she was lathered with silicone. Sorry for my rant, but do you guys think this will work?
That was pretty amazing if that is a legit video. I looked pretty real to me. I don't get how it works, but I guess it does. I am no expert or professional though. I wonder if I could use this to get a few door dings out.
I tried this out a few years ago on my old Pathfinder. It may have made it better but was hard to tell. Might depend on the size and location of the dent though.

Everybody needs a little lip, lol. Had to say it.

lol totally off topic but.. (how much will a lip bring the car closer to the ground)
Can't guarantee in our soft paint, but there was no paint damage on the '88 Pathfinder or my girlfriend's old '99 S-10. Luckily none of our current cars have any reasonable dents to try this on.
Tip: the dented area needs to be quite warm before spraying. The quick temperature change and resulting contraction of the metal is what is supposed to 'suck' the dent out.
this works on the expansion and contraction of metal. trust me it will work.
HOWEVER! it all depends on the size, location, and if the dent is creased. on that dent you could simply use a large suction cup. that method will work on large 1/4 panel dents, but will it no way work on an A-pillar dent.
I can't verify if this will happen or not, but I heard that the dent can reappear with temperature change, like a cold night to a warm day.
I'm not sure if that's true or not, but might be something to keep in mind.
You can also do this with a piece of dry ice, just be careful not to burn yourself.

it deff wont work on ur a-pillar...
this method might work on a door skin.. or a roof skin... but anything w/ a sharp are hard curve to the metal from factory .. wont come out via this method...
maybe even your hood....or quarter panel
but it has to be a fairly broad dent... that was caused more by the streatching of the metal either directly or indirectly...
i tried this with the air duster and the dry ice...neither worked for me but i think its because i didnt heat the panel up enough...ill try it again in the summer when its 95 degrees.
Well i just talked to Bill Nye the Science Guy, and he said something about when heat is applied to metal the molecules expands and become morph-able or some other cool science word, then when it is cooled very rapidly it stiffens and becomes solid again.
I beleive the word your look for is malleable: 2 a: capable of being altered or controlled by outside forces or influences b: having a capacity for adaptive change
