i know this has been brought up a thousand times, but i dont understand why everyone is so 50/50 on this product being good or bad.

if this rt90 is bad for our trannies, what would you recommend and why? im ready to flush mine as im overdue as is (40k)

The fact is that my tranny felt good with the SP but when it failed and we took it apart we found all kinds of small clay like particles in there and the holes in the shaft that are used for lubing were clogged with the clay so no oil was getting between the gears. I switched to redline MT90 or Royal purple the 2nd time and both work very good although I went back to redline and think I will keep using that since I've had no issues with it so far.

ah, gotcha. i thought you were knocking the whole redline product's and was going to have to back that train up a minute. :lol:

im trying to find some, but my luck is thin. im going to call a place tomorrow that i think stocks it. my poor car needs a massive fluid overhaul.

I would not use shockproof in the tranny either.I'd stick with mt90. I used to run the ultralight shockproof (about equal to a 70w90) in the diff of my 96 Miata. It worked great. NO more chatter and smooth operation.But since i raced and drove it hard I changed the diff fluid every 6 months and the trans every year. I also used RL oil in the motor every 2500-3000 miles

it went in yesterday. the fill hole is on the bottom facing semi-downward. i had to use an "injection cartridge" with a hose on the end.. it was ghey. who puts a fill hole facing 45* downward?!

btw, any word on mm? im hoping to get it ordered this week.. (sorry, inside info)

meh, i just put mt90 in my tranny and im not looking back. car hasnt shifted this smooth since the first day i got it.

to classicaddict - why do you think mt90 is so bad/what do you use instead? plenty of people have had good feedback with it..
