Does anyone have any pictures of what to expect when i open up the dash to reconnect my auxiliary jack? I have a Mazda3 with Sirius installed, and want to be able to run my ipod through the aux input. I know that they wont work together unless i have the shop install a y-connector into the back of the head unit. But, since we do not plan on using the sirius anytime soon, it sounds like the best option is to just disconnect the sirius and connect the aux. From other descriptions on this site, it seems relatively simple to access the head unit. I am just looking for ANY info/pics to help someone extremely inexperienced with car stereo components. Thanks!

Sorry, I do not have an answer to this, but I figured I'd try to help. Removing the head unit should not be a problem at all. There are plenty of instructions on the forum. Once you get behind the head unit I'm not sure what you are going to find, but I don't think it will be too hard to figure out where Sirius plugs in. I'm assuming when they install Sirius they just unplug the aux input and plug Sirius in, it should then just be a matter of you unplugging the Sirius and plugging in the aux input. The hardest part might be finding the aux input cord behind the HU. It should just be back in there somewhere, but you may have to start pulling apart your cup holders, ash tray, etc and following the cord from the center concsole to the end. This isn't hard either; the cup holders easily pull out and there are guides on the forum for removing the ash tray.

It really shouldn't be a big deal. Just make sure to give yourself a little time to get it done and don't be afraid, there isn't really anything you and mess up or break by taking these things apart as long as you are patient.

Anyone have any better info we can give him?
