Im thinking about installing after-market HID's and I wanted to know if they will still have the same "instant on" look that the factorys do, when you turn them on.

dunno if im following you, but the aftermarket hid's take like 3 seconds to warm to full brightness

Depends on how long it takes to warm up. Usually its 5-20 seconds, so maybe. Factory setups are unique (and aren't using halogen projectors), so the nice looking flicker (light looks like purple then blue then white, etc, etc) you see on bmws, cadillacs, etc won't be there, but it will be still be a nice solid blue looking colour.

mine take a few seconds to warm up, it trips me out when I start driving and they aren't completely warmed up. everything looks purple!

Yeah mine take a couple of seconds to warm up, as Stephanie said when they haven't completely warmed up things look bluey to me hehe. I have 6000k HIDs btw.

ALL HID bulbs.....factory or not take a few seconds to get their optimum operational temperature and brightness.
