Greetings,

I followed the guide to programming a spare key and was able to program a spare key for my 2007 Sport Touring 5-door automatic. I started and drove the car with all three keys, so all three keys work - 2 original and 1 spare.

But...

Now the Key Light on the dash constantly flashes every 3 seconds when a key is not in the ignition. So it flashes 24-hours-a-day 7-days-a-week until I start the car.

Any ideas on what's going on?

Thanks!

Yep, that's normal. It's an indicator light to confirm that the ignition disabler is working (the system the chip in the key talks to). It uses only a tiny bit of power; you should be able to let your car sit for weeks without having a dead battery.
