So, I know I said yesterday I wasn't going to buy stuff, but I'm a pathological liar. For starters I'm getting the Cobb AP, then I want to buy some small mods. I'm thinking about the TWM stage 1 short throw shifter with bushings, one or more vehicle mounts (but I don't want vibrations), rear diff brace, and maybe some other stuff. Anyone have any good ideas? Also, when I get stuff, does anyone want to have an install day?
Oh yeah, I got my HKS SSQV bov today. It's used but supposedly has everything needed to run recirc. One of the hoses will need to be replaced I think. Would you have time one of these nights this week or sometime Saturday to help me install?
Some hoses are long enough, mine was.
Dabears2k has them for $10-$15 in different colors.
The hardest thing about putting on the SSQV is the snap rings. I have the snap ring tool if you want to borrow it.
Total time to install should be less than 30 minutes. It is REALLY easy with the right tool.
I just mentioned in the other thread about an install day. I have some things waiting!!!

What is a snap ring? The previous owner had it running recirc so it has the flange on it and stuff. After work I'll take pictures of the SSQ and all the other pieces so we can figure out what's there, what's missing (if anything), and what needs to be replaced (if anything), so it's all ready to go for an install.

Dpending on the weekend I'm happy to help. May try to get Paul's inserts in this weekend if he has time, we could work on yours too.

Yeah, this weekend is good for me. Hopefully I won't have to go into the office for a couple hours. Work has been a real drag lately.
That will be a peice of cake. Everything is there. The hard parts already been done, snapping the valve to the flange that bolts to the manifold. Bolt that up, and swap out hoses to the pre turbo inlet pipe. Plug in the vacume line and your set. Did this on my GT with an HKS. Must of had a fualty one. Leaked like a bitch, so im staying with the Turbo XS. But Other friends of mine have been using the SSQV for years without a hickup. Let me know when and where sunday, Ile be there.
That is the older model HKS BOV but it looks like everything is there and the snap ring is already installed on the flange. It should take about all of 15 minutes to install that way. I am also down for a meet up on Sunday. Who has a big garage?

BTW, I think the large hose needs to be replaced, as it has cracks in it. Where's a good place to find a replacement hose?

you would want a nice silicone hose not a rubber one do to the heat so maybe try performance shops to see if they sell it by the foot.

Good point. I live by PRE so I'll see what they have.
I have the standard 2 car garage and tools, with only 1 car at home right now you guys are welcome to use it. Put the P5 out in the cul de sac. I live a few miles off of I-205 and Padden Pkwy.
Sunday, early afternoon works good for me any where in the PDX/Van area.
