Has anyone pre-ordered a 3 yet? I checked with Evansville Mazda, and they aren't taking orders for it yet. He said they have no information on the car.

I do have a funny story about them though...

I checked with them in March of '02 about the MazdaSpeed Protege, and they thought I was talking about a Protege5. They had no idea what I was talking about. They even looked on the Mazda Dealer website and couldn't find anything. I had to explain to them what it was and he told me he thought the price would be around $27K (US $). I laughed.

Same for me. I have met the President of our dealership here in our small city, and he didn't know what the specs were, but they knew what the 3 was, and they expect it to be available for us within the beggining of January. Thank god.

AC, are you seriously considering one? If you have any Toronto-relevant info, PLEASE share! I will buy one next summer and I'm pretty excited about this car. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about it and would definitely like a good deal on it Who doesn't?

Have you dealt in the past with any GTA Mazda dealers? I have with Avante Toronto and will likely go with them again.

Yea I am. I was really close to buying a protege5 but a really kind salesperson (at Richmond Hill Avante Mazda) told me about the mazda 3 just in time. I like the M3 better than P5 because of the larger engine.

Have you tried visiting your nearby Mazda dealer Dinu? I'm sure they might be able to give you some info. The Avante Mazda at Richmond Hill seems to know alittle bit about the Mazda3 maybe you can try contacting them too.

Well if you're asking me, I like the Avante Mazda in Richmond Hill better than the one at Yonge and Steeles IMHO. I felt the Thornhill one gave us a "we're too busy for you" type of attitude because I was still comparing between different cars at the time. The one at Richmond Hill seems much more friendly and they seem to sell for a lower MSRP based on the prices they stick on the windshields. The showroom at RH also seems much nicer than the one in Thornhill.

Sorry I totally misread the last part of your message :shock:

I havn't dealt with any Mazda dealers yet because I have never bought a Mazda before. But I have been really busy around shopping for a new car recently and I have been to both Avante Mazdas quite a few times (they must really hate me for all the test driving hehe), and I just felt that the one at RH seems friendlier IMHO. Its probably just the salesperson that I was dealing with.
