Hi, I been watching this little car for a while. Will be getting one as soon as taxes get here. :D I thought some of you guys interested in modded ya ride might be interested in this post. It is on a Ford Focus with the 2.3L Pzev, basicaly the same engine in the Mazda3s. Hope you enjoy it, I did as I plan to mod the hell out of the car.

Yeah, I am trying to find information on the ECU. Because I know they "SCT" are working on a program that will let you flash the ECU yourself for the Focus. Hopefully they will work on the Mazda too, it will allow you to change everything the ECU contralls. Just like a Stand-along, but half the price.

Those numbers look pretty similar to our Project Focus 2.3L

Our dyno can be seen here:

http://draxas.com/dynos.htm

152.2 WHP with our prototype Intake, 4-1 race header, and 2.5" exhaust

We have made some tweaks to our flexpipe and our exhaust and will be taking the car back to the dyno. We are shooting for around 155-160whp with only intake, header, exhaust.

We will also make these same parts for the Mazda3, just as we are making them for the Mazda6i. This summer we will definitely have a set of headers out for the Mazda6i and Mazda3i and 3s.

These 2.3L engines have HUGE potential. Just wait until we have some good camshafts to drop into the engine and a way to tune the computer.

Wow, I would definate call that proof that these engines have a HUGE potential. THanks for that post Nikolas, and I know I will be looking for those parts as soon as I get the Mazda3 and as soon as you make them.
