06 5 spd..i shift into 3rd..and a second later it pops out into neutral..this happens 2 out of 5 times..

i really hope this isnt a huge issue..the car only has 7500 miles on it..

I had the same issue and it kept getting worse. The ended up rebuilding the trans. I had to fight with them for months cause they need to witness it popping before they can cover it under factory warranty.

Since I got it back, it's popped about 5 times, it hasn't popped in about 14 days.

In your case, if you still have a factory warranty, wait till it gets worse then bring it in.

just took it in..the service dude drove it..noticed the issue..warrenty work..rental rx-8..not bad?

I believe the syncros are the culprit when the tranny starts popping out of gear. Which necessitates(sp?) a rebuild.
Nice rental btw.. maybe they're trying to sell you a RX8

[/quote]Yeah, according to the invoice, they replaced the 1st, 3rd, and Reverse synchros.
