Just picked up Mazda 3 GT/manual Black Mica red sport cloth.

Things look pretty good so far. Can't really comment on the ride yet since there's still quite a bit of snow in Calgary. But the rest of the car is great. Pretty quiet ride, lots of room, tons of place to store cd's or whatever else you put in your car. My last car was an RSX (my very first car.... i worked so hard for it...) but unfortunate circumstances led to the car being written off. I have to say though i'm very happy with the price and standard equipment on the MZ3.

Will do more driving on the weekend so I'll catch up on this later. Hope the roads clear up a little.

EDIT: Topic renamed to show model/trim

how good is that 3M clear bra? Its more like a slightly rubberized clear-coat paint, right? does it show a line where it starts on the hood?

You can't really see it if you are 5 feet away from it. It shows a line if you look at it really closely, but that's only on the hood.. the entire bumper is covered so that rock can't chip the paint. The headlights and the fog lights are also protected. I believe it's a must have if you drive the car in winter.

Don't have a digi cam so I can't get any pics.

I'm going to get 3M put on the front (probably). I got a family friend that can do it for cheap, plus they give me a deal on window tints too so that might be next in line. Place is called "Shadow Tinting". They definately do a perfect job. Had all black windows on my black RSX and it looked nice.

do you have any pics? I am contemplating the 3M clear bra as well....but i read on teh rx8 board that it may interfere witht he paint interaction w/ oxygen...so the paint underneath may be darker than the rest over a long period of time

Got my car at NorthHill Mazda. Good staff there. They were pretty quick about everything too.

More comments about the car:

Sound system is ok. (can't compare too the setup I had in my previous car... but all my stereo stuff got stolen when I got into the accident... stupid towing company :x )

I like the seats, nice and comfortable though they feel a little small, i'm a skinny guy so i dunno what other people have to say about this.

Lotsa space in the car so that's a major plus. And I love the way the interior looks at night. EL guages look clear and the center console has so many lights it glows (I like that).

Clutch feels very long but shifting feels precise. (I've barely ever driven manual so don't really trust me on this. People say i'm pretty good for someone who's driven manual only twice before getting this car.)

I also like the way the headlights and foglights look at night. The only thing the car really needs on the outside is a little bit of lowering.

Well that's all I can think of for now. Gotta drive some more (woo hoo!)
