just curious what everyone's opinion is......

i saw pics of comparison between philips blue vision and osram silverstar in the RSX forum........philips blue vision looked much brighter.

but just wondering if anyone here has their own opinions.

i'm gonna pick 1 of these as my temporary bulbs while i save up money for HIDs

It depends on what you are looking for in a blub here. If you are after just bulb performance then it's osram silverstar. If it's HID look with decent performance then it's Philips blue Vision.

You are comparing apples to oranges here. These bulbs are not designed for the same purpose.

Osram silvertar = Philips Ultra Vision
Osram Cool Vision, Sylvania silverstar = Philips blue vision

i dont think the osram silverstars are for north america (remember reading something bout them, could be wrong though...)
i know for sure theyre different than the sylvanias though (sylvainas are coated with a blue filter, osrams are not)

Here's what I remember

Osram Silverstar: White light far down the road, less yellow tint when looking at the source.
Osram Cool Vision: White light down the road (not as far), white HID like tint when looking at the source.
Silvania Silverstar: White light down the road (not as far), white HID like tint when looking at the source.
Philips Premium: White light far down the road, less yellow tint than stock when looking at the source.
Philips Blue Vision: White light down the road, white HID like tint when looking at the source.

For HID like look at Stock Prices: Philips Blue Vision, Osram Cool Vision or Silvania Silverstar.

For best visibility: Philips Premium and Osram Silverstar

thanks for the feedback everyone.

i've decided to go for:
Osram Silverstar for lowbeam (cuz it's more important in terms of performance)

Philips Blue Vision for highbeam
