Does anyone planning on using this on their new 3? Any experience and thoughts?

http://cms.3m.com/cms/US/en/2-...jhtml

this stuff really should be installed by a professional.

My problem is, I am located Canada! :( I checked on the 3M Canadian site and it's not listed there. I wonder if we can get it anywhere in Canada or if anyone would install it....

I wouldn't mind trying to put it on the car myself but just wonder if any of guys have heard/tired it before. Also, it can be put on the lens of the headlights to prevent stone chip.

I've got it on my 3. I'm in the US in Wa, State. I've posted info on it in the exter mods section.

Hasta :p

Where in WA did you go to get it installed and how much was the overall cost after parts & labor?

Also, this prevents the covered paint from fading right? What about the non-covered paint... over time that paint will eventually fade and the covered paint won't, then the color difference would be noticed cuz the car won't fade at the same rate.

Thanks for the link raitchison. I've been trying to find out about this product.

Hey, digi... The xpel product would total about $560 for the 3 pieces they sell. That's for hood/fender/mirror, grill, bumper. Ouch. Does that seem high to you?

Thanks.

I'm guessing they price it based on how hard it would be to do it yourself with bulk material. here are a lot of curves & countours on the 3.

I'm getting the hood kit for sure., that's not too bad prce wise.

It's a little high, I got mine done from my dealer for $495US. It has the Hood, Fender, Mirror, Grill, Bumper, Headlamp and Fog included :D .
They use Autobahnd

I wouldn't want to be the one putting it on. It's an long process from what I saw. I paid 440 for mine. I got a bunch done as listed in the other post. I would check around and pay someone to do it for you unless you have the whole day to try and try again.

Hasta :p

Anyone know of a good place in the sf bay area that does this?
Try these guys. They are located near the San Jose Airport, other side of 101 off De La Cruz.

I had them replace the interior of my CRX and rewire the headunit when my car was broken into back in '98. Not the cheapest place, but a DAMN fine job.

They do most of the custom work for the D.A.R.E. police corvettes and such.

No guarantee, but I'd not be surprised.
