The MS3's have been out for a few months now and those lucky people who got their hands on one I am sure are having a great time with their "Wild Child" every day, but I being a hopeful future owner am just wondering what the overall impressions of the car are now that many have had the chance to break them in and such.

What are the greatest things about you ms3?
Whats not so great?
Basically, I am looking for some overall impressions and some owner reviews... because thats all I have to excite me since I am not driving one myself :?

I have had my MS3 GT for about a month now. I love it everytime I slip behind the wheel. Great in all regards. I have had zero problems thus far (knock on wood). I thoroughly enjoy the performance which is better than average and I am used to V8 rear drive cars all my life. Aftermarket performance market is heating up too. Fuel mileage not stellar but satisfactory.

Well, since I must...complaints:

No MP3 compatibility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bash:
Bose bass is weak
No heated seats
Notchy shifter (mostly 1-2 shift when cold)
Inaccurate fuel mileage computer
A/C compressor runs sometimes when I don't want it to
Possible high price of dealer installed performance parts (somewhat speculative as yet).
Sooty tailpipe

Anyways, mostly minor things. Overall, 9.5/10 for me.

positives:
-great power out of the box
-shifter is smooth and effortless
-handling is great for a stock setup (compared to other fwd hatches)
-MPG is great for a turbo 4, can get 28+ when driving on the highway minding your own business
-aftermarket likes the car and is putting out some promising efforts lately
-seats are very comfortable in front and back
-bose stereo has great sound and built in sirius is the best (im not a teenager, I dont need booooom!)
-glove box is big enough to store clothing!
-stock tires are dang nice for stock tires on a affordable car
-looks sharp and cosmic blue is a sick color
-exhaust note puts a smile on my face every time I start it
-unless you know cars, its a big time sleeper
-insurance is cheaper than my non turbo 4 banger
-etc... I could go on and on.. but I dont want to sound biased ;P

cons:
-I only have one, that it weighs 3150, but thats a testament to its quality

I had it for 2500 miles. I had time to get "used" to the car. Overall it feels very solid and well put together. Much better than the 6 I am driving today. The GT trim is very tasteful. I like the smell of the leather. Performance no need to mention that. But what I like most is that its a great daily driver, very reassuring ride. A great compromise between comfort and performance.

With 4100miles in 2.5 months of ownership it still amazes me. Everytime I see her I pause a bit before i realize its my car. Then the driving experience is amazing. I opted for the lighter sport model with no regrets. The engine responds on the fly, turns are sharp and accurate, and high speed cruizing is the best. I hook up my ipod to the aux input jack and i'm set. I just put on Quee's "i'm in love with my car" and forget the rest. Its a great car!

Whats not so great?
No engine mods...yet. The shifter can be a bit clunky in cold morings, but that quickly goes away once the car is warm. HID's did not come as a single option. Oh, and the chicks love it! They call it the shaggin wagon :) ... wait, thats a great thing!

Pros
I love to drive again
This thing is a champ in the rain, I can do 3/4 throttle acceleration without losing traction, very confidence inspiring. Who need all wheel drive
fast fast fast
love the look from every angle
almost no body roll and solid over bumpy roads
very smooth on the highway, this thing is a serious cruiser
hatch functionality
great interior
exhaust makes me shiver with excitement although it only sounds good under 3000 rpms, unless you have it floored in which case the car sounds like the devil exhaling.

Cons:
I have had a CEL not a big deal
Some rattling and shifter is notchy both only when cold
Summer tires come stock, I would like all season.

PROS-
Good overall performance in a practical package.
Predictable handling.
Very stealth (no one notices it).

CONS-
Too many squeaks and rattles in the interior.
Schizophrenic engine management.
Feels heavy (and it is).
It's no substitute for a real sports car.
Can't anyone make a decent cable shifter?

Pro's

Solid car, I feel very safe driving it
Nice stock exhaust rumble
Very smooth, very fast
flat cornering
low rpm grunt

Con's

Front wheel drive
Ac compressor that runs all the time, ac on or not
windshield/dash/cowl rattle
Gas mileage on low end of range (thanks ac compressor)
Shifter could have more precise, shorter throws

The A/C isn't forced on when (dash) vent or floor / vent is selected.
I usually leave it on floor / vent.

Actually, I think the highs are pretty good.

One of the many magazine articles wished for a midrange adjustment. I couldn't agree more.

Can't really add much to what's already posted. All I can say is I love driving it so much that I can't wait for the next day to hop in it again. There really isn't much to complain about. It does everything I expected it to and does them well (mileage, utility and speed).

I am starting to think I shouldn't have started this post now... It's making me sad because I am no where close to getting my own ms3 at the moment :(
I only have one payment left on my 04 mazda3, but being a college student I don't think it would be to smart to start payments all over again

Otherwise, I am not surprised but I am very glad to be hearing so many great things about the speed3! Congrats to all who got their hands on one!

I got the GT for the HID's, leather seats, and trip puter. Didn't want the bose, and don't want the bose...so I'll be tearin out the bose speakers and doing my own speakers off an amp instead. I know i won't get show quality audio but it'll be clean and thats all I really want.

I sure wish that I could make that claim. I usually get around 20 in mixed city/highway driving.

I will concur with the positives already stated. The car is just plain fun.
So far averaging 25mpg on my mixed hwy/city driving with some "playtime" thrown in.

Cons:

Brake pedal moved closer to accelerator-makes things a little tight for my big feet but getting used to it.
Handling is very good, not quite as good as I'd set up on my '04 hatch, but very close.
No HID option for the Sport trim level. Didn't care about any of the other GT goodies. Guess I'll have to check out the aftermarket HID kits.
ECU killing power in 1st and 2nd gear.
