I was trying the build and price option on mazda.ca an I was a bit confused by all the accessories:

All-Weather Floor Mats $107.75

Aluminum Fuel-Filler Door, Satin TBD
Ashtray Replacement Compartment $48.00
Auto-Dimming Mirror with Compass & Temperature $359.09
Auto-Dimming Mirror with Compass, Temperature & Homelink® $539.95

>> Does this mean a vanity mirror? what is homelink.

Cargo Mat $59.08
Cargo Net $28.50
Cargo Tray $75.31
Cassette Player $280.00
Decorative Trim, Instrument Panel $143.50
Door Switch Panels $201.95
Engine Block Heater TBD
Front Aero Flares $549.99

>> What is this?

Front Mask $212.77
In-Dash 6-Disc CD Changer $729.00
Leather-Accented Gear Shift Knob $163.25
Leather-Accented Parking-Brake Handle $165.75
Lower Door Mouldings $553.69

>> would this be like a skirt?

MiniDisc Player $743.75
MP3 Player $565.25

>> What is the MP3 player? A harddrive or will it just let the cd play mp3s? Does anyone know if you need to burn the discs in a special way (ie no folders, 8 letter filenames?)

Rear Aero Flares $549.99
Rear Bumper Skirt $350.90
Rear Bumper Step Plate $26.00
Wheel Arch Mouldings $550.25

>> Are there any pics of these body options?

Wheel Locks $31.20

I was planning on asking the dealer to throw in a bunch of these options since they said they couldn't move much on price, but most of them seem pretty useless. I was thinking of getting the MP3 player but I have a feeling it won't be implemented well.

HomeLink is a wireless control system that learns codes for up to remote control devices (Garage door, security lights, entry gates, etc)

I think it's the latter. Normal cd player that can play MP3. Not sure about this. I've never had an MP3 player installed before.

thanks for the pics they were very helpful. The only option I'm considering is an mp3 player but I am a bit apprehensive cause I'm not sure how well designed it is. I thought i saw a post on one of these boards that said the mp3 player cannot navigate through directories. $500 is also pretty steep for a mp3 cd player you could almost get an ipod for that price. I might just get a tape player and do the line out mod to it

A quote from another section.

For the mp3, it display id3tag (name of the album, name of the artist, song name and files name) it takes 2-3sec to switch between directory, the only 'bad' thing is that the "random" doesnt work in the whole cd but just in a single directory
Try asking 6 owners in other forums. The MP3 player in 6 should be the same as 3.

just a piece of advice on the mp3 player. its not worth it! yes u can put hundreds of songs on it, but all it does it read mp3's on a conventional CD. you can actually buy a discman that does this for practically nothing. i was just in florida on vacation (from toronto) and i bought two of them for $19.99 US a piece. so consider that all ur doing is buying THE SAME THING but build to custom fir the mz3, for a mere $500! even tho it may not look as nice, id rather save over $400, buy a kit to plug the discman into the stereo plus the cost of the discman and put my savings into a spoiler, or for that matter, gas, a necessity! thats just my two cents
