I posted this suggestion in another thread but didnt see a response. I have customers begging me to get on this site. It's obvious the new owners are wastes of breathable air. Can we try to keep this site from completely dying please? I(and some moderators) think we could handle dealing with the spam from a 24 hour period once each week. Or maybe even a 12 hour period like 8am til 8pm. I think this would keep the forum alive until a permanent resolution can be reached. I dont want to have to take this sites link off my business site. I've been here since 05(different name) and I like it here.

It is so pathetic that you even have to suggest such a ridiculous idea. I've never seen a forum go down the shitter in all my years like this one.

What? You've never seen a forum owned by a well-meaning individual get bought by AutoGuide before?

It doesn't surprise me at all (the way this forum has been handled).

Only so much I can do. As I've said in other threads, I email, pm and even have called so we can get things fixed...... I'll get told it's in work, and have to request an update once I haven't heard back. The most recent info is that the site is now in-line to get swapped from SMF to Vbull. And it "should" happen in the next week and a half. My hands are tied though. As I've said before, my admin rights are restricted now that Autoguide owns the site. As for opening registration. You need to provide a time and date. And coordinate that with whomever is interested.

Curious, how much does a site like this cost to purchase? And yearly fees / maintenance.

It'd be nice if we could actually own it instead of AutoGuide.

Vbull would be a massive upgrade. If they are willing to do that perhaps better days are ahead. The current SMF is only slightly above the bottom of the barrel.

Every Sunday from 8am to 8pm we should open registration until the website switches over. That should work. Could you do that?

We'll see how the 1st go around is. You have to understand the spammers don't just come in through the Mazda3 board, they come in through the Fusion board, the Mazda2 board, the Mustang board, Small Volvos, Fiesta, etc....... So it's not just controlling the wave from one access point.

Examples of how bad it gets, though these guys went un-noticed for awhile. http://www.cx5drivers.com/index.php?board=1255.0 http://www.focusdrivers.com/index.php?board=1205.0

So does that mean this is a go for Sunday from 8 til 8? I want to go let the members waiting on the other forums know so that they can be ready to sign up.

www.fordfusionforum.com is the second most used Fusion Site. But many of the people there couldn't get onto here and have settled there.

I also need user names. As I'm not going to just open it all the way up. It'll be admin approval only. Otherwise I'll still end up with 3-500 registered spammers.

Ok so Sunday from 8 til 8, registration is open and I will have people send me their usernames and then I will send them to you.
