Nicely done. Only thing I would have done differently, is painted it gloss black to match the shine of the hood.

just a thought but how would it look if you ordered a badgeless grill (or openmouth) and had it painted blackmica... i wonder how it would react with the cf... either it will go alright or it will look like shit IMO lol i dunno, just something that popped into my head.

no dude leave it flat black ... it flows the hood and it melts in ..

if you go gloss you'll see the grill too much ... way too shiny and it will stick out ..
something you dont want

bigup for flat black !!!

+2 for go with a gloss coat. Personal preference I suppose, but I think the flat makes it stand out more against all of the glossy paint (white/black). It looks like you got pretty good even coverage with the flat black though. How many coats did you do? did you sand/strip the old paint off first?

btw put some black eyelids on there and itll look really nice IMO
[/quote]

That would depend on the eyelids. It they're the ones that go all the way to the corner of the lights then you'd have a little triangle of black amidst the white and they'd stick out even more. This is the only time I think eyelids that stop at the edge of the hood look good.

Re: ok.. i did it.. new pics

i think, if I do eyelids I'll go w/ carbon fiber

as far the process, I took off the front bumper & the grill

I hit both of them with Bulldog Paint Adhesive...

hit it with 3 coats of flat black, so it's on there pretty good...

I don't understand why you'd say that it would detract from the hood at all.... the hood is nice and glossy to begin with... I guess its all personal preference, and in the end, its totally up to him, we are merely just the devil and angel on his shoulders :p

I'm assuming the Bulldog Paint Adhesive is a product used to contract the paint to the surface so that it lasts longer and is more durable?
