I just changed to 10/30 full syn Super Tech which is Quaker State.

Stock plugs

Stock tranny fluid.
Redline 10w40 or Royal purple racing 41.
Redline light wt shockproof mixed with MTL for tranny
Stock Iridium plugs
Alright. I officially run

TRANNY OIL: 2heavyweight shockproof 1 Lightweight Shockproof

MOTOR OIL: Penzoil Platinum 10w30 Synthetic

PLUGS: ILTR-6A-8G - one step colder w/ .040 gap
is 10w recommended/preferred over the 5w?
You want numbers as close as possible for a turbo, so a 10w-30 would be better than a 5w-30; however, for those of us in the cold weather that just isn't possible.
^^^exactly... Thank God I'm in 80 F year round ;-)
thanks FOX :)
pennziol platinum 530
ngk - 1 step colder
clean - non synthetic trans fluid. whatevers on sale.
tranny: redline lightweight shockproof
motor: royal purple
plugs: ngk - 2 step colder

Why the mix??
Just feels better when I shift. Doesn't feel as slugish going into gear. Just personal preference really. It has worked well for me though.
why not Mercon 5? isn't Redline strictly a toyota Tranny fluid?
erm....redline is an oil company, they make all sorts of synthetic fluids.

^^^+1 Stay away from FI for now... lol j/k
I have been using the 15-50 Mobile One.
AutoLite 1step colder plugs gapped to .035

Have had the NGK 1 and 2 step colder Iridium plugs.

I'm going to try a different oil soon to see if there is any difference from a lighter weight.

Actually now will probably be a good time to ask this, I am putting a turbo on my car relatively soon, and I was wondering whether it is actually worth it to change out my spark plugs immediately or stick with the stockers for a bit. As for oil, I juts did an oil change with 5w-20 but I figure when the turbo goes on I need to drain the oil to tap the oil lines and then refill with 5w-30 (or 0w-30 given the ridiculously cold weather here).

Any thoughts on this?

I would always recommend a colder plug and a tighter gap with FI, more so with higher boost settings. Colder plug will help with detonation and that is great especially with no timing control.
