Hey there Calgarians! I'm looking at doing my own oil change on my MS3 pretty quickly and am wondering where the best place is to get the oil filters, o-rings and wrench. My understanding is that the MS3 has the same filter setup as the 2.3 engine. Is there a local place (Mazda, CDN Tire, NAPA, PartSource, etc.) or should I order them online.

walmart has mobil 1 for the cheapest.
get your filter, O-rings (2), and crush washer from Mazda.
and get your wrench from onlinemazdaparts.com

Thanks blam, I was thinking about using Mobil1. That website is giving me trouble; not sure how much the wrench is.

The filter with o-rings costs $10.95 at my local dealer.

Do you torque the filter housing every time? I have always used canister style filters where you just hand tighten. If I don't need to torque it, then I could use my strap style wrench to loosen and tighten it.

Wow, thats a lot..... But if your set on changing your own oil that is a deal compared to MSRP at the dealership.

I torque everything on my car with a tq wrench.

Just placed the order with Finishline. No problems with my Canadian credit card.

Now I need to find a torque wrench. Of course a torque wrench that works on the filter drain won't work on my lug nuts. Maybe I need two torque wrenches.

those ****...they told me they only take MO when I asked them about something a while ago.
