Will this car have the same offset and lug patterns as the Protege?

Well, the current Protege has the 5x114.3 bolt pattern (for GT Group and Progege5). The Mazda3 is a continuity of the Protege and they have put 16" wheels, STOCK.

So if it's not all 5x114.3 bolt pattern, then there will be 2 bolt patterns:

Base Modem (2.0 and 2.3L, without Sports group): 4x100mm
Sports Group: (2.0 and 2.3L, with Sports group): 5x114.3mm

If so, everybody that has aftermarket rims/tires on the there old protege can transfer them over to the 3. Big money saver.

I was referring to all version of the 3. I would think they'd be the same as the Protege as well, but I'm only... say... 70% sure of that one.

Are those specs on the offset for sure? Because if they are, it's going to be a bitch to find rims.
Indeedy do my friend!

The PRO has some hard to find tires too and I'm positive this is the case for the 6 also, the the 3 will have it too, meaning it gets to preserve that "Mazda Zoom-Zoom with hard to find tires DNA"
