I recently bought a new Mazda3 (1.6, Automatic, European Model). Yesterday I noticed that the odometer display stays on even I turn off the engine and switch off the lights. The backlight is off, I just clearly see Trip A Icon and how many kilometers I did and the total mileage (1100 km).

I'm sure it didn't happen before. The only thing that changed was that I moved the slide swith of the rear interior roof lights to OFF (it used to be in Auto/Door Open position). Changing it back obviously didn't help:) Mind you, it's not just ghost figures you see on an LCD display of digital watches. It's there.

Any suggestions or similar experience?

Thanx

According to the (American) manual, the odometer and trip meter (standard gauges) are displayed for 10 minutes after the ignition is turned to ACC or LOCK from ON, or when the driver's door is opened.

Maybe you just didn't notice it being displayed previously?
