1.So the time has come. I'm waiting till the end of january to get one last large paycheck before i make the plunge though. So now i have a few decisions to make. I'm pretty set on wanting a 5-door, but do i get the speed or do i not get the speed. Right now im driving a isuzu rodeo. It is a v6 but im sure even the non-speed will be faster then it. I never learned manual, but im willing to learn. Also, im eligible for the s-plan through my employer. What im thinking is that since it is my first NEW car that i should take it easy and not get the speed 3. It will most likely be easier to pay for since im a student and you never know what can happen in terms of finances. What do you guys think speed or not to speed?

2.Dealers. Wayne mazda has been very good in keeping in touch with me and i hear there one of the largest. The only problem is that there close to an hours away from my house. I hear that is you dont buy the car from the dealer, they dont like to service your car. Crystal is only 10 min from me, but when i last talked with them in october i didnt like them that much. Any opinions would be appreciated.

3. Color if i dont go with the speed i want either pearl white, phantom blue, or aurora blue. What do you guys think holds up the best and looks the best?

Im freaking excited and wish that i could just go out tomorrow to buy the car. Im pulling my hair out over here!!!

1. I'd *heard* of some dealers giving a hard time honoring S-plan on the Speed3. Don't remember where or how valid that was, but it might be a good thing to look into. As for Speed / non-Speed because of it being a first car, I think you're right on with being concerned about the finances. That being said, I'd also encourage you to go manual. It's not too hard to learn and most people really enjoy it - especially on these cars.

2. Wayne is, indeed, one of the biggest dealers so you might have a better time finding what you want, but a lot of the North Jersey gang hasn't been happy with their service. Of course once we all showed up at the Wayne BBQ last year they realized we're rather organized and started providing better service. I never went there when I lived in Jersey. I bought the car from East Coast in Englewood, went for service at (what's now) Mazda of Lodi and a little warranty work at Mazda of Ramsey. Now I take my car to a dealer about 35 mins away from my place in PA because they're one of the largest dealers in the Northeast and are really great. They all know me there because even when I lived in Jersey I'd stop by for an oil change or whatnot. They had the first Speed vehicles available in the Northeast as well - my friend bought the first Speed6 available! In short, no dealer should have a problem servicing your car. It's all money to them. If you didn't like Crystal when you talked to them, don't buy from them.

3. Color is something that you really need to decide for yourself. Go to the dealers during different weather conditions, ask to see all of the colors in all the body styles you're considering (if you do still consider the sedan). I like pearl white and aurora blue since winning blue is no longer available. That's in terms of 'what looks the best' in my opinion - but no one can answer that question for you. As for what holds up the best, they'll all hold up about the same. It's thin paint, as most of us have discovered, but you won't have any better results with one color over another in my opinion. Just make sure to keep it clean and waxed! ;)

Alright i have it down to two cars. Crystall has a s touring in stock in the aurora blue with leather. They also have the phantom blue in the s sport trim. Im leaning more towards the phantom since hardly any one has it. So this is probably the last time ill be asking this but. Phantom blue or aurora blue?

I had to decide on this, too. The phantom looks green much of the time, IMO, but it's very nice. I ended up with the aurora because it's a real eye-catching shade of blue. If you are a blue person, you'll like aurora. In the sun, they both look amazing, so if you're more for teal, go with phantom.

I went with phantom because its more of a rare color. The aurora is a eyecatched but so was winning blue and i see so many 3s in that color. I would have been happy with both but im glad with the decision i made.

I'd go with the non mazdaspeed version spend the 3900 bucks you will save on not having to pay 24k for the mazdaspeed version and blow the doors of the mazdaspeed version. Also like zob said get the manual they are a lot of fun to drive, and it's not hard to learn, just becareful on hills. I learned in a 1980 shit brown rabbit and when I went up my first hill while my dad was teaching me a damn mercedes pulled out behind me,nothing like 100k sitting behind you to scare you.

That was a hell of a deal Brandon....

There are packages around with tires included on 18's for $800 if you are price shopping. Wheels like Flik, MB Autosport and others are usually low priced.
