My car is frequently parked near a Spruce tree with those pita needles. I do keep it clean.
I happened to be chasing down a rattle in the suspension after replacing the brakes & rotors.
I noticed some debris falling from the wheel well.
Decided to pop a couple pins out and this is what I found.
The other side was just as bad. I'd suspect the wheel wells haven't ever been out of the car since new @ 2015
I popped a couple of lower skirt grommets & flushed the area with water. that should be good enough for the next 5 years.
(still haven't found what is causing the rattle only when I drive over bumps on the left side. any right side bumps and all is quiet. I'm starting to think a caliper isn't doing its job holding the rotor as well as it should.)
