is this for real?

is the next rx7 going to be the kabura concept? I'm kind of sad its not going to use a rotary. I don't think the rx-7 name deserves to be seperated from its rotary roots.

But the article mentions influences from the 1st generation rx7, an affordable and practical sports car, and that it will be mazda's cheapest sports car. And its got 3 seats, with both passengers having equal leg and head room. It's got a glass roof with adjustable tint, and solar panels on the rear to help climate control, and recharging the batteries. The passenger side has a rear door that slides out, like the rx8 doors, just dont open clamshell style. It uses the mx5's chasis and engine though.

I mean, I still want one, I just don't think it should be callled an rx7. Or at the very least, they should make a mazdaspeed version with a rotary, the rx8's engine would work wonders in this chasis which is basically a hard top mx5. Considering that the limited run of 2nd generation mx5 coupes in japan manage to be 3x stiffer than the roadster with only just under 100 lbs increase in weight. The effects should be similiar being based on the 3rd generation mx5 right?

if it has mazda R(something), then it's rotary. for example, RX-7, RX-3.

even if this car is rotary powered, it's no RX-7. that's just rumor talk. trust me.
the production of the RX-7 is dead. i don't think it will ever come back.

they'll stick with the RX-8 which is no RX-7 by a long run.
maybe a new generation of RX-8s. haha.
