Well I hope this is the right place to post this. I just want to say Hi! I am a newbee to the mazda forums and have been browsing for a couple days and really seem to like what I have been reading. I just got in a car accident with my Girls VW Beetle and we have been looking for a Mazda 3. They seem to be well worth the money. We were interested in maybe a 04-06 5 dr hatch. I was wondering what the reliablitiy is on these cars within different milage ranges? Also my I have noticed a hatch around my complex but cant seem to find the color sold any where, its a blue which reflects a purplish green (very hard to describe) =). But any insight for a newbee would be great THANKS!!!!!!!! Oh by the way I own an 06 Dodge Charger R/T Black Pearl...

I own a 2005 3S. I am coming up on 30000 miles.I have only had one mechanical issue since purchase. That had to do with an oil leak. It was very small and was hard to pinpoint where it was coming from. Had it fixed at the dealership under warranty, and I haven't seen the leak since. Other than minor technical service bulletins, which I consider to be growing pains for a new car, it is a solid car for the money. Great looks, fun to drive, peppy, great gas mileage, just an excellent purchase all around. As far as the blue hatch you saw, it is possible that is a custom paint job.

I have an 04 Mz3 hatch and I havent had mechanical problems with mine. I only have had the recalls which the dealer has fixed under warranty. My car has 37,000 miles on it and is running great considering its been in a major accident.
And btw.. that bluish color ISNT a custom paint job NewGuy.. its Strato Blue.

Is this the color that you saw? This is Phantom Blue, new to 2007 models. Can be bluish or greenish depending on the lighting:

Go with the 07, since changes have been made from the 06 to the 07, like the AC units, LED lights, etc.
