so i have been driving a 2.0L 2007 mazda3 for 10 days now and i've already been rear ended (on sat- barely any damange, but still pissed me off .. only 1002 miles on it). my real problems however has been an intermittent non-starting issue. this began prior to the accident. the car will crank but not catch. when this happens, it will usually start after 4-6 long (10+ sec) atempts at turning over. is this a common issue? (i tried searching, havent found it) thanks for any imput. it seems like a fuel/spark issue.
and as far as idoit questions
#1- car never goes below 1/4 tank and is filled prior to night (should not have water in lines/tank)
#2- battery is fine- car cranks fine
#3- car is bone stock - the wiring has not been messed with

i've been planning on buying a MS3 at the end of the month/begining of next, but after this (and a few other gripes) i'm having second thoughts.

the temps when it happened ranged from 25ish to 40ish. i dont think it was the cold.
fuel pump failure? i'll check into that. the car is a 2007 but with had a fairly early 2006 build date.

the 07 isnt mine. i'm driving it while i adjust to my new job (fresh outa college) and untill i buy a car. the 2.0 is wayyy to slow for me to want to own- i'm bored with it already. luckily i'm not dumb enough to buy a car then buy another in a couple months.
