Hey everyone a new Mz3 owner here had it for 2 months now using it for daily communting 100KM+ a day so far it's held up but I find myself filling up very often. Much more then my Civic SiR.... :x

The only problems so far are screeching brakes  and the wipers are pretty crappy as well. Brought to the dealer said the brakes are a known issue as I see lots of posts here have the same prob. Nothing done yet to fix them although I will be pressing them on my next oil change.

Anyone else have a white one here? :?:

Welcome!

Post your location ;)

I find that I get around 400km's per tank, with the automatic; maybe a little more if I use Activematic. By the first oil change, I think I should get better milage. Wipers do suck.....but they're fine for me.

Location updated! :)

I guess 650KM on a GS is attainable for hwy driving same as I get in my SiR......

But for the GT I guess about 500KM or less more like 400KM like you mentioned.... BTW when should there be the first scheduled oil change?? too lazy to look it up......

You should be able to get b/w 450-550 kms per tank for the 2.0 w/AT IMO.

ArticM3:

1 - you can create a thread about yoru car in the I Just Got my Mazda3 section

2 - Look in Powerplant for gas mileage threads.

I also find the car to be quite pessimistic, as far as the low fuel light is concerned. It actually lit up at 380 km today. That's a 20-25% full tank! There's no way to tell whether the tank's actually empty or not, and since I hate stopping at the gas station more often than I really need to, I have to watch the odo way more than I'd like.

I do mostly city driving and got roughly 450km per tank w/ a 2.3 AT, yet I have to fill it up 3-4 times a month with this ridiculous price of at least $0.779 (today only, I bet it's gonna be back up to 0.855 or something tomorrow)

btw...where's the fuel light? I've never seen it come on, once I drove for about 420km and I still didn't see a light come on before filling it up

I guess it a general consensus here that us Mz3 Gt drivers w/AT have to fill up more often then we'd like to, plus it's a 55L tank if I'm not mistaken, pretty crappy fuel economy if you ask me. I'm just used to my Civic that's all.....I got about 4,000KM on it now. So no other Arctic White drivers here in the GTA? I heard my color was rare I guess it's true? :p

I am usually reaching over 520km per tank (46 liters) meaning 8.86l/100km... which is not so bad. I have to admit is maybe too much related with the temperature - at -15C I was getting only 9.8l/100km...
2.3GT w/AT mixed/140 on hwys
