With the MK4 R32 being in STX, i think the MS3 should be placed in STX also. Anyone want to send in a letter?

Wow... BS RX-8 is faster than the STX winning WRX in the nationals.... Even with street tire, the RX-8 can win in STX stock...

why not race an MS3 in GS, it can be quite competitive there. With so many cars getting moved down, the rein of the Mini Cooper S is over.

The MS3 did not get moved to GS for 09.

Most of the cars that did get moved from DS to GS wouldn't have much of a chance against the Cooper. Most were GS cars to begin with before the reorg that moved them to DS.

Mini Cooper has been proposed to DS in 2010. I already wrote my letter.

[/quote]is it's motor over 2 liter?

Speed3 in STX would be a lot more fun than in STU, for sure...

I guess I misread the October FasTrack, but on p 3 it says "MOTION: To accept the 2009 Solo Rules changes as submitted by the Solo Events Board.(Noble/Introne) PASSED, Unanimous"

Which if I read correctly included moving the Cobalt SS (Turbo and Supercharged), Mazdaspeed3, Audi TT FWD, SRT-4, Caliber SRT-4, Dodge Daytona, Honda Prelude, and many others from DS to GS. I can see several of those cars giving the Cooper S a run for its money in GS.

This was the same FasTrack the removed the RX-8 from the exclusion list in STX.

That was an error. Here is a cut n' paste from the November issue:

- The rules package forwarded by the SEB to the BOD, which was approved at the BOD’s September meeting was in error.
Specifically, under the STOCK CATEGORY heading, Item 8 is incorrect. The correct wording, is as follows:
ITEM 8)
Move from DS to GS: Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged
Move from GS to HS: Honda Civic del Sol VTEC

<snip>

- Per the SAC, the following class change proposal is published for member feedback: Move the Mini Cooper S from GS
to DS.
- At this time the SAC withdraws the follwing previously published class change proposals:
- Cobalt SS Turbocharged - DS to GS
- Mazdaspeed 3 - DS to GS
- Integra Type R - DS to BS

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

BTW, I don't think any of the cars that did get moved down have a snowball's chance against the Mini. They couldn't hack it in DS and the Mini has been as fast if not faster than DS. Now in 2010, when (if) the Mini gets moved to DS, then those cars look interesting.

the del Sol VTEC might have a shot against the regular cooper in HS. . .

but I'll agree, the cobalt supercharged doesn't really have a shot against the mini. I think the turbo might, as well as the mazdaspeed3, but if they are still DS then they still aren't really competitive.

No way! There are at least 15 cars I'd pick for HS before I'd pick that one.

Agreed.

I've driven one. Torsional rigidity of wet spaghetti.

Hmm, didn't think of that, I was basing it on weight and hp only.
