Hi!
I just moved to Texas and since I don't really know anyone in the area I thought I would get more involved with the Mazda enthusiast community. I have a RX-8 (6-speed manual Sport with Performance Pacakge), but my girlfriend is looking to buy a Mazda3 in the next week or so. I prefer the 2.3L hatch but she wants to be frugal and get the 2.0L sedan. I will let everyone know how that plays out (with pics of course). Anyway, we just wanted to introduce ourselves (we will both post through this name).

You may consider going to dealerships outside of Harris County for your 3 purchase. Tax rates are lower in all surrounding counties, you can save several hundred for a short drive. Did this myself several months ago.

May also find that 3 inventory levels at dealers are low. That freighter that tipped over a few months ago in Alaska had all of Houston's 3s on board. When i purchased my 07, there were only 4 2007 MS3s in the entire area. I lucked out & found the one i wanted, only bad thing it was a demo with 70 miles on it, I preferred a brand spanking new. Hopefully, inventories are better now.

check out the south central threads to see whats goin down in houston in terms of meets and such, occasionally we try to plan them out, havnt had one in a while though.

I think we may have enough interest to get up a vove group buy. Maybe we need to check with Mazda81 to see where he got his (or hers)? They seem to be willing to give theirs up pretty easily - I wonder if you have to give it away or if it's a share thing? :?

I got my 07 MZ3 at EXPO Mazda up in Kingwood (Hwy 59 North, north of the Beltway about a 20-30 minute drive from downtown) They set me up pretty good, we got the car for $1500 less than the dealer sticker. Try 'em.

My gf got a galaxy gray sedan 2.0. She loves it, only one she wanted.
