that was about 5 years ago, went on top of the hood, made it look like a blown v8 was under the hood and sticking out!!

Uh, what's wrong with a magnetic oil drain plug? I run that same one on my car. Got a few particles on it that would otherwise stay in the engine. It indicated normal wear.
