i was just looking at the bumper, and the 07's have that 6 inch plastic black piece above the "mouth" mesh.

The official word I got from Boom Plus Toys (http://www.boomplustoys.net/index.shtml) when this new model first came out was:

"The bumper will fit with a slight modification to the front rebar from
past experience. The very corners of the rebar needs to be hammered in a
bit as the japanese one are a bit smaller"
