Dont buy Rotas (or any other knockoffs) and dont skimp on your wheel budget. The wheels and rubber you buy are the only things that connect your car to the road. You hit a pothole and your wheel bends or breaks and you're screwed.

That site you originally linked also has some pretty good prices. For those Tenzos (18x8) and a set of General Exclaim UHP tires, it'll be $1335 mounted, balanced, and shipped to your door. Honestly, I dont think you'll beat that.

Honestly, save your money and buy what you really want... you'll be happier in the end.

I'm sure you know all of those "posters" with slogans such as "Rota: Because real wheels are expensive," so I will refrain from posting that here. Rotas arent even that much less expensive than wheels made by reputable companies. A set of (4) 18x8 Torques was only about $150 less than the 5Zigens I ended up getting. It'll be the same in the OPs case.. the Torques you linked are only marginally less expensive than the Tenzo's he linked.. but the quality isnt really comparable.

I said it once, and I'll say it again.. dont skimp on wheels. Do it right the first time and it'll be cheaper (and you'll be happier) in the end.

Without knowledge of the incident and history regarding a damaged wheel... it is pointless to bash a particular company unless that was your wheel that it happened to. I know professional track racers who use Rotas. Anyone could easily find some pictures of damaged Volks, Advans, 5Zigens, Tenzo's... Rotas are fine.

My opinion is my opinion Badgerspeed, sorry if you do not share it. I also remember one thread in particular where a silver or white MS3 owner hit something in the middle of the road and it literally shattered the lip of his Rotas. I've hit similar things with my stockers on (winter) and the stockers werent even bent. However, if you want to PM me, we can have this discussion, not here.

Like I said, OP, buy what you originally liked and wanted. Dont settle for something else. If it costs more, just save up for it... you'll value it more in the end.
