I have ( sittin in my garage ) some 18inch tenzo-r 48 offset wrapped in 225/40/18

im thinking of getting 17 inch / 40 offset / wrapped in 215/45/17

Im, a fraid of loosing too much pwer with the 18 ..
the 17 will be light weight ..

18 sounds big to my ears ..

what chall think ?

don't like that offset I'd go with a 48 instead of a 40 if possible. 17's are probably the best balance between performance and looks on the 3 just be sure your new wheels are not heavier than stock.
people get so caught up in wheel weight. i have 18s on my hatch. the car doesn't feel any different than the stock 17s. i plan on a lot of track days this year so im going to put some falken rt-615s on my stock wheels and change them out at the track.

then what's the problem????
Yo Texas!

It dosent realy matter, you'll only need light weight if you realy plan on racing it. And wich light weight JDM wheels are you looking for??? not Gram Lights 57S I hope :p

If you could get like a +45 on some wheels, just because you wanna drop that b*tch down, so you wont rub, cuz at +40 I cant realy drop more then I am right now.
THE 17'S ONLY COMES IN +40 ..
you can MP me if you want texas!

If you want, I can come over to our house and lend you one of my rims to see if your rubbing. All under my supervision :D

Me gots 17x7.5 @ +40 with some "sticky" 215/45s
i just ordered some 17x7 +40...youll be ok if you plan on goin conservative drop like progess or pro kit... if you wan to go lower, get some coilovers and drop it until u dont rub!

Tein SS = Tein Super Street Dampers

I think you mean s-techs, cuz if Tein SS, they are coilovers that are height and damping ajustable.
Basicly, it's the best damn suspension you can put on your mazda 3 :p
