:lol: I made a apointment for my first service(8000k) with Mazda dealer.
Just want to know how is the oil they use? good or so so?

All dealers use different oils, based on what they can get the cheapest. Though they usually use a name brand oil like Pennzoil, Valvoline, Motorcraft, ect.. Just ask the service manager what bulk fluids they use for oil, atf, mtf, coolant and he should be able to tell you without problem.

You might even bring your own oil, if you have a preferred brand.

Like Fem said, you could always bring in your own oil (best choice I think). I doubt that they wil have different brands of oil, but they should offer conventional and synthetic oil (they might be from two different brands). If you do ask for synthetic from the dealer, be prepared to open your wallet wide............................Really wide! :shock:

For years i have used Kendall motor oil. Oddly enough thats the oil my dealers uses..so i dont have to bring it in. The dealer does discount the oil change a bit if you use your own oil. Hopefully they will continue to use Kendall and it wont be an issue for me.

Just a thought about bringing your own oil, filters , etc....
It is normally considered ok by most shops if you bring a product that they don't carry or have access to but don't expect to be greeted with open arms if you come in carrying M-1 or some other product that they have readily available. Shops (dealers and independants alike) are in business to make money and part of that equation is a mark-up on parts and a labor charge. Thus when you bring your own stuff most shops have an adjusted labor rate. Meaning the standard labor rate might be 75/hr or adjusted to 95 for someone who furnishes their own parts.
You wouldn't carry your own steak into Outback and ask them to grill it for you...

some dealers will give you the option for Mobil1 (my choice) for an extra charge (if you're going to have the dealer chnage the oil).

cuz those cars all spec synthetic oil. The mazda3 does not require synthetic. . .
