You don't mean the mazdaspeed3, right? You said sport.

Anyway, I have an '07 GT hatchback. I swapped with 16" wheels withouts the sensors. The TMPS light in the tach window blinks several times, then it stays on. That's all.

I will install the sensors when my proxes wear out which will be years from now. Hope the sensors still work. The batteries in them are supposed to be good for 10 years.

One of the local dealers in Colorado springs has sold a few speed3's with after marker rims on them. The sales guy said the TPS swapped right out onto the new ones. Look up bob penkus for and see if they say anything about them in the new car sales area. I wouldn't buy from him though because they mark up thier speed cars :x

Sensors are attached to the valve stem. Yes, they can be swapped out. These valve stems are a bit larger in diameter than ordinary valve stems. Many aftermarket rims won't accomodate tire pressure sensors.
