Okay enough of this BS. So Cobb says a sparco 2006 STi harness bar bolted in, in their track car. Ive looked at a bunch of pics and it looks like it will. Has any one tried it yet? I am wanting this harness bar to hold a camera mount for the main reason.

Here is the sparco one:
http://www.sparcousa.com/pharness_bars.asp?id=604
On ebay they are $429 with free shipping...

Here is a knock off, $299+shipping:

Knock off camera mount, $89:

found a third, NRG innovations:

HBR-003 Harness Bar: 50.5" -- Contact us for applications $399.99

So those seem to be the only options. Now please only post if you are interesting in the harness bars or have tried them. Also what about a good camera mount? I talked to a guy that races and he says he is trying out the new "the flip" hd camera and says it was better than the gopro camera. But the gopro has the enclosure so it would be better if on the outside of the car...

This harness bar would also be used for track day 4-5point belt.

Yeah his tutorial is the one I got the link for the sparco HB install. So I kind of tried to make this tread so people know the bar fits and there are more than just the sparco.

The knock off bar WILL NOT fit, its made for wrx's up through 2007, not the new body style. The reason the newest WRX bar will fit is bc of the similar body dimensions. I looked into the sparco one, but decided against it bc I didnt feel like cutting anything in my interior...... and I like my friends so I'd feel bad for the poor bastards in the back seat lolz!

Is there a way to put a 4-point harness in with the stock seats.
[/quote]Sure, lap points mount stock locations and shoulders to rear seats

You just cut a slit in the carpet. And supposidly its the 2006 sti that fits. I already talked to sparco about them listing it under their site as a product. You can still use the back seat too its just a handle bar ;)

if you get the Rallye 3 or 4 than they are also DOT approved so technically street legal.

So when you say they mount to the back seats, does that mean that someone cant sit back there? I am new to this so sorry for the stupid question.

With just a harness bar, yes people can use the back seat. If you have the 4 point belt then which ever seat you install it too that back seat will not be able to be used for a person.
