Mod Advice for New Owner, Please!!

I just bought my Black (Mica) 2007 Mazda3i 4door a month ago, slightly used with 23,000mi. I really wanted the speed3 but am not too fond of the hatch. I'm getting ready to start doing some mods in the next month or so. First up is the tint, which I've already decided will be a 15 and know which shop I want it done at (my boyfriend has an srt-4 ACR and we had some work done on it at the same shop). Next up is a sunroof. I've heard mixed stories about having this done. It was nearly impossible to find this option on my car when I was looking for it because I didnt anticipate how difficult it would be to find a newer Mazda with manual transmission in the color I wanted. I was told by the dealership that they do that kind of work for about $800 and provide a warranty on it. Any advice? I really want this done but not if I'm going to end up spending more money on it in the long run. I'd also like some advice on cold-air intakes that work well on Mazda3s, as well as any turbo kits since apparently there are no supercharge kits made for this car. I'm hoping to have all of this plus a little more exterior work done (minor light changes) by the end of the year. All advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Welcome! Where in PA are you located? Stop in the local chat threads and say hello. I've heard that aftermarket sunroofs are hit or miss-- some say better than factory, others disagree. Not really sure where to direct you on that one. Good luck though, you'll find plenty of useful info. around here!
Sounds like you've got good plans for the car already! 15% tint on a black mica looks super hot.

A lot of people shy away from aftermarket sunroofs/moonroofs, and it would suck if it developed problems since it could cause water damage and is not covered under warranty. However, I had one on my second car and it was great. The car was an 88 Accord, had the moonroof installed in 90, and was still working fine when we sold it in 99. It was a lot bigger and nicer looking than the OEM moonroofs on newer Accords which had them as options, and never had any problems. So if you really want one, I say go for it.

Turbo Kits: there's an entire section of the forum here dedicated to Forced Induction so I recommend keeping that discussion separate from everything else, in a new thread there. Lots of heated options, etc ;)

Now, let's see some pics of your new baby! :)
Thanks! I'm new to this site so I'm still exploring all of the threads, it's a little overwhelming. I'm from right outside of northeast philly. Hopefully I'll some pics up after the tint gets done, as long as weather stays decent enough for it to be worth getting my car washed.

Nice... Exton here. Overwhelming, yes, but worth it! Looking forward to seeing some shots of the car!
