happens right as the gear switches...and when i press abit on the gas.
I hear this sort of metallic ringing/grinding noise.. but just happens in that moment when the gear switches..at low RPM and minimal power(just as you add abit of power).

its a 2.3 auto..

any ideas? thanks..much appreciated..

i get the same exact noise and have the same exact intake/exhuast combo with a 5sp. I KNOW its on the intake side because a week ago I took off my f2 intake and put back on the MS intake. Shortly thereafter I started hearing the noise. I briefly prodded around and I think it could be one of two things:
1) I felt that the heatshield was touching the fender liner and i think that under acceleration its rubbing (engine bucks back an inch or two causing it to scrape the metal fender) I need to take off the shield and see if its the culprit, i just havent had time.
2) the rubber vibration mount may have worked itself loose over time.

any other ideas? I'd like to get it resolved also

i also suspect that it could be an exhaust leak. do you have a MS cai with the heatshield? If not I'd check to make sure the rubber vibration mount isnt loose. If it isn't, then we'll know its the exhaust
