Hi everyone,

I hope I'm not out of place for asking this but what did everyone pay for their MS3? I just came back from a test drive and a (what I thought) rather high lease quote for a 36 month and 12k miles/mo lease. I asked them to work with $2k total out of pocket and they came back with $420/month (taxes included). That seems a bit high for a $23k car. Granted, there are no special incentives on the MS3 and I didn't even attempt to work them down since the wife was with me. This was kind of a non-scheduled stop - just pulled in after seeing a red one on the lot.

So... what kind of deals have others been able to pull on an MS3 GT?

Thanks,
Erik

(what a fun little car!)

I have just actually leased my Mazdaspeed3 also. I put $2K down and with my credit rating, came to a monthly payment of $399.71 for a 3 year lease. I chose the 3 year lease because of the Mazda warranty and it being a first generation model car. I also got a 15K a year contract for that price. I managed to get the 2nd MS3 sold in Jacksonville, FL. The next one will arrive in April!!!Cosmic Blue Mice is the best color...

Happy New Year,
Frank

Do not lease a car. Most of the time it is not a good financial decision. Two kinds of people lease cars. Those with money that want a new car every few years, or those who cannot afford to buy that car and instead opt to lease it. You end up spending lots of money and have nothing to show for it in the end. Save your money and purchase it. You cannot alter or modify the car, and they will nickle and dime you for every chip and scratch that they find. If you do end up leasing, NEVER put a downpayment on the car. You are just throwing that money away. Just my two cents worth.

Thanks for the replies. So my original quote wasn't far off considering that I didn't negotiate at all. I prefer to lease because I only keep the car for the amount of the bumper to bumper warranty and as long as it's a minimal out of pocket expense. The monthly payments are lower and I don't have to worry about selling the car. Fingers crossed for a good lease deal in early '07. :)

Well its not that bad of an idea to lease a three....if you plan on purchasing it after the lease is up. All this pending the deal coming out in your favor...what plan/deal you can get.

Let's be realistic here... If it only costs an extra $75 to $100/month to purchase the car, than a lease is an absolute ripoff...especially with $2000 out of pocket and a $420/month payment. OUCH! I only lease when there's an awesome deal. The most I've ever paid on a lease is now...$300/month, 3-Year, 12K/ year, $0 down. The vehicle stickered at $42,000.00. I also leased truck for $99/month, 0-Down, 24-months, 12K/year. I completely understand if funds are limited and the extra $75 to $100 a month is already spoken for. $420/month...you're obviously paying the hot car - high demand factor. Best of luck picking up a new ride.

You're right. There's no way I'd pay $420/mo on this car. I was surprised by what the sames guy came back with and wondered if this is the norm. I already have a $400/mo car payment (financed) and was looking to lower that by as close to $100 as possible. Maybe it won't be in a MS3 but I like the car and thought I'd test the waters. But I agree, if the lease vs. finance price is less than $100, it doesn't make sense to lease.
