Just wondering if anyone has bought the factory all weather floor mats for the mazda3.

If anyone has.....could you post a picture of it up close?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy the factory floor mats or just buy a 3rd party one. The factory floor mats are so expensive over here. I think they were like $140 CAN when I asked....while the 3rd party mats are only $40 CAN.

So just wondering if the factory mats look better or not.

Thanks!

Personnally, I didn't care about my winter floor mats' looks. 20 minutes and they're covered in calcium anyway.

I picked up a 4-pc set at Costco (Pants Saver, black) for $40. They work pretty well and keep most of the winter crap out of the car's carpet (but not all of it). My car's got the Activematic, so I don't really mind that the mat raises to cover the dead pedal instead of working around it.

I guess I'll use the $100 I saved to have the car detailed when this crappy winter goes away.

Activematic is the automatic. Labeled the Activematic because it can be switched to semi-manual where the driver can select gears like a true manual.

So the pricey ones are the red or blue ones right? The black ones are the other?

The colored mats that say Mazda 3 are nice, but for that much money it's hard to justify it.

yeah......the only problems is that the mazda3 has a huge footrest that the other mats wont really leave space for.

but then.......i guess that's actually might not be such a bad thing

I got the All weather floor mats two days ago as a gift. I'm pissed though. The little hole in the mat that holds it in place is in a different position than on the regular mats causing it not to fit on the plug in the car. I'm gonna have to move that little hook which holds the mat about 4 inches right. BLAH!!

Also, I feel the clutch pressing against the mat when I press it. That'll go away in a bit though I figure once I wear out the mat a bit.

Ohh.. I almost forgot... they have a horrible plastic smell to them which overpowers the new car / leather smell of the car.

They look good though and they protect the carpet/regular mats. AND THEY SAY "MAZDA3" ON THEM!!!

i put those baking soda boxes in my car in hopes that it'll help get the smell away

I just took a closer look at the mats. The floor is a little lower under the clutch pedal to accomodate for a full throw of the clutch. The all season mats don't account for this and hence don't even touch the floor on the section under the clutch. When pressing the clutch, it contacts the mat and causes some uncomfort. I'm gonna go back to the dealership where I got the mats and complain. Its not the dealership I got my car though so we'll see what happens.

Hmm.. I wonder if that's my problem - it sounds like the regular mats are not supposed to have Mazda3 written on them.

Mine are dark gray, matching the carpet, and have the logo. I wonder if that's why I have that retarded plastic clip hook instead of the metal screw hook.

I notice that mine sometimes feels like it's in the way of the clutch too.

I have the metal screw hook but on my car the hook is mounted in the center of the mat (pretty much). The brand new All Season mats I got from the dealer (complete official Mazda packaging) have the holes for the hooks mounted off center to the right by a few inches. My metal hook doesn't reach the hole in the All season. So right now, I'm driving around with a bulge under the middle of the mat where the metal hook is. BLAH!

I got carpet floormats with the car... but I bought a set of rubber ALL-SEASON floor mats. The Mazda3 all season floor mats don't fit very well though... contact with the clutch pedal and the hole doesn't fit on the hook.
