Anyone heard anything about the Mazda-designed one yet? I'm trying to decide wether or not to go aftermarker would be a better idea, since somedealers are REALLY sticky warranty-wise when they see an alarm system in there. ANd I'm also wondering wether or not an aftermarket system would be harder to break.

Or is Mazda just going to re-label a DEI setup or something? :)

I installed a Mazda OEM alarm on my Miata - it was definitely just a DEI (or something similar) aftermarket alarm - the beaty was that it came with a custom wire harness that jus tplugged into everything. You only had to cut one wire. It took me like 2 or 3 hours to do - very easy. Also, it uses the factory remotes.
DEI is now the largest alarm manufacturer in the world. Ever since they bought out virtually all the good name brands, they rule the industry with very high quality alarms.

I would go aftermarket. Much more reliable and easily serviced. Although the plug and play for the 3 wont be out for awhile, and besides, with aftermarket you can get 2 way remotes that have instant feedback.
